Tattooed Traveler Donates Astros Flag After 150,000-Mile World Tour

John Lambert, a Beaumont native residing in Houston, undertook a remarkable 16-month, 150,000-mile global odyssey, visiting more than 100 countries. This extensive journey began about six months after the Houston Astros' second World Series win in 2022, following Lambert's reflection on his life's experiences. He decided to memorialize his travels through tattoos, covering his arms and legs with abbreviations of each country visited, ensuring vivid memories instantly surfaced when he looked at them.

Accompanying Lambert on his extensive travels was an Astros flag featuring a vintage Tequila Sunrise design. This flag served as a personal connection to his home and his beloved baseball team. During his trip, Lambert encountered numerous Astros fans in unexpected international locations, adding signatures to the flag and forging connections over their shared passion. The flag's journey saw it photographed in front of iconic landmarks worldwide.

Nearly two years after completing his voyage, Lambert returned to Houston and donated the well-traveled Astros flag to the team at Daikin Park during a game. The organization plans to frame the flag and display it. Lambert, who fondly recalls attending Astros games at the Astrodome with his father in the 1980s, expressed his enduring love for the team and his excitement about their current season.
