This move follows a previous failed bid involving high-profile figures like Joe Tacopina and A$AP Rocky, which collapsed due to regulatory hurdles.

Ascent Capital Partners, with offices in Arizona and Texas, focuses on financial advice for ultra-high-net-worth families. Their strategy appears to center on buying clubs outright and generating revenue from daily operations, with a significant emphasis on maximizing property assets. Bryant Clark, a growth advisor for the firm, noted the potential in UK football by pairing club ownership with stadium infrastructure and real estate development to create sustainable income streams.

This approach suggests a likely push to relocate Tranmere from Prenton Park to a new stadium at Bidston Dock, envisioned as part of a £100 million "sports city." Should the bid be approved, Tranmere would join a growing list of English clubs with American investment, with 36 other teams in the top four divisions already having US-based investors. Recent weeks have seen other US-involved deals, including the acquisition of Hartlepool United and plans for Lincoln City.
