Summary
- Wrestler Reetika Hooda was removed from the TOPS core group after failing a dope test.
- Compound archers like Parneet Kaur and Abhishek Verma have been promoted.
- The TOPS list was updated to reflect recent performances over the past year.

The Sports Ministry's Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) has undergone a substantial revision, impacting its athlete support structure. Wrestler Reetika Hooda, previously in the core group, has been removed after failing a dope test during a selection trial last year. This decision reflects a stricter stance on performance and integrity within the scheme.
In contrast, compound archers such as Parneet Kaur and Abhishek Verma have been elevated to the core group. This promotion acknowledges their strong performances and potential, particularly with compound archery set to feature in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The updated list now includes 118 athletes, a slight increase from the previous year, with a balanced representation of able-bodied and para-athletes.
