In a major recruiting win for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Norwalk, Iowa tight end Luke Brewer has committed to play for the program starting in 2026. The 6'5", 225-pound prospect was Kirk Ferentz's primary TE target in the 2026 recruiting class, and he chose Iowa over offers from Miami, Tennessee, and other top programs.
Brewer is ranked as the No. 20 nationally-ranked tight end and the No. 6 overall player in Iowa according to 247Sports. He made his official visit to Iowa in October 2025 and was impressed by the program's culture and player development, particularly the tight end group. Brewer also returned for an unofficial visit against Oregon, further solidifying Iowa's position.
The four-star recruit's commitment adds significant firepower to Iowa's 2026 offensive unit and fills a critical positional need. Over his three-year high school career, Brewer recorded 109 catches for 1,338 yards and 9 touchdowns. In his final season, he had 39 receptions for 532 yards and 6 scores. Brewer also showcased his defensive versatility, posting a team-leading 63.5 tackles, including 8 tackles-for-loss, while playing defensive end.
