Chief Minister M. K. Stalin recently inspected the development of a ₹15 crore sports complex in Tirupattur, highlighting its importance for local youth. This state-of-the-art facility is anticipated to be fully operational by 2026, offering a dedicated space for athletes to train and compete. The project aims to foster talent for state and national-level events.
The expansive complex, spanning 10 acres, will be managed by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu. It will feature a spectator gallery with a 3,500-seat capacity, ideal for football and athletic events. Additionally, the complex will include eight 400-meter athletics tracks and courts for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, tennis, and kabaddi.
Further enhancing its offerings, the facility will incorporate an administrative block, changing rooms, a modern gym, and parking. A unique open-air theatre for events and ceremonies, along with landscaping and a hockey stadium, are also planned. This comprehensive development seeks to provide sportspersons with year-round training opportunities in a modern environment.
