- Tilak Varma advises bowlers to be aggressive and seek dismissals.
- West Indies' batting depth poses a significant threat throughout.
India's vice-captain Tilak Varma has urged the national team to prioritize taking wickets over merely restricting runs against the formidable West Indies batting attack. India currently leads the five-match T20 International series 2-1 and aims to secure the series victory in the upcoming fourth match.
Varma acknowledged the West Indies' significant power-hitting capabilities, particularly after they successfully chased a target of 249 in the second T20 match. He emphasized that the threat extends throughout their batting order, noting that even the eleventh batter possesses the ability to hit big shots.
Reflecting on the second match, Varma explained that the Indian bowlers were initially too defensive. He revealed that head coach Gautam Gambhir has since encouraged the bowlers to adopt a more aggressive mindset and actively pursue wickets, signaling a strategic shift for the remainder of the series.
