Tigers' Pitching Aces Shine, But Offense Falters
5 Apr
Summary
- Tigers boast a strong starting rotation led by Skubal and Valdez.
- The team struggles with offensive production early this season.
- Isaac Paredes is a potential trade target to boost offense.
The Detroit Tigers possess a top-tier starting rotation anchored by pitchers Tarik Skubal and Framber Valdez. However, the team's offensive capabilities have been a persistent issue, contributing to their current 2-4 record as of April 5, 2026. In past successful seasons, the Tigers excelled at manufacturing runs, a skill that has shown inconsistency this year.
Anticipating a need for offensive reinforcement, the Tigers did not acquire a significant power bat during the offseason. FanSided's Austin Owens predicts a trade deadline move for Isaac Paredes, an accomplished infielder who can cover multiple positions. Paredes, currently hitting .333 with no home runs in 22 at-bats this season, appears blocked by established players on his current team.
