The Detroit Tigers snapped a three-game losing streak on Friday evening, securing a 3-2 victory against the Toronto Blue Jays. This win came in the opening game of a weekend series at Comerica Park, marked by a crucial walk-off home run.
Looking ahead to Saturday's game, the Tigers welcome back right-hander Casey Mize from the injured list. This will be Mize's first start since April 28, when he exited early due to a groin injury. His previous outing against the Blue Jays on May 26, 2024, resulted in three runs allowed over 4 1/3 innings.
The projected pitching matchup for Game 46 is RHP Casey Mize (2-2, 2.90 ERA) for the Tigers against LHP Mason Fluharty (2-0, 5.40 ERA) for the Blue Jays. Fluharty has primarily appeared in relief this season, with only one previous start in his major league career.
