As of November 13, 2025, legendary golfer Tiger Woods is collaborating with Donald Trump's environmental advisor, Ed Russo, on a major restoration project at the Langston Golf Course in Washington, D.C. The 49-year-old Woods will offer his personal guidance on redesigning the course while ensuring its rich history remains intact.
Langston Golf Course holds significant importance, having opened in 1939 as the first golf facility in D.C. for African American players. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Lee Elder, the first Black golfer to compete at The Masters, managed the course. Woods has often credited Elder for paving the way for Black golfers, making his involvement in this project especially meaningful.
While Woods' firm, TGR Design, is not officially part of the project, Russo, a senior consultant for TGR, will be handling the environmental aspects, including restoring habitats along the Anacostia River. Russo has expressed his excitement to work with Woods, stating, "I'm responsible for redesigning it and making it better than it ever was, and I'm proud to say that Tiger Woods has agreed to help me do that."
