Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff is poised to make a professional football debut, having been named in Mumbay FC's squad for the prestigious Durand Cup. Shroff has been actively training with the team, with co-owner Zoheb Amrani confirming his registration and potential participation in group-stage matches scheduled for Shillong. This move marks a significant step for the actor, who has been associated with Mumbay FC since its inception in 2024, regularly playing in the Mumbai District League.

Zoheb Amrani discovered Shroff's footballing abilities during an influencers league game in 2023, noting his technical understanding and passion for the game. Shroff's registration process for professional tournaments was handled with full seriousness, highlighting his commitment. Mumbay FC's participation in the Durand Cup, one of the world's oldest tournaments, offers a national platform for players from Maharashtra.

The club's fixtures include matches against Langsning SC on August 3, Shillong Lajong on August 8, and Nongkseh SS & CC on August 11 in Shillong. Beyond the star power Shroff brings, the team aims to use this exposure to benefit its young talent, potentially leading to scouts from bigger clubs taking notice. Mumbay FC is also navigating challenges related to training facilities in Mumbai, training at Cooperage Ground and a school ground in Navi Mumbai to adapt to natural grass.
