No. 3 Texas baseball shut out UTRGV Vaqueros 14-0 in a run-rule victory on Tuesday night at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin, Texas. Head coach Jim Schlossnagle praised his team's pitching and timely hitting, noting six runs scored with two outs.
The Longhorns' offense set a season high with 15 hits, scoring in six of the seven innings. Junior centerfielder Aiden Robbins led the charge, going 3-3 with three RBI and a first-inning home run. Catcher Carson Tinney added a two-run homer, and Andrew Ermis contributed with two RBI singles.
Freshman pitcher Sam Cozart, sporting custom cleats, struck out eight of the 16 batters he faced in four innings. He allowed only one baserunner after the first pitch. The bullpen maintained the shutout, securing the Longhorns' eighth straight win.
