Aggies Target Alabama WR Isaiah Horton Amid Portal Frenzy
9 Jan
Summary
- Texas A&M seeks a wide receiver replacement for KC Concepcion.
- Malcolm Simmons is considering Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Kentucky.
- Alabama's Isaiah Horton is a top transfer target for the Aggies.
Texas A&M is actively rebuilding its wide receiver unit for the 2026 season, facing the challenge of replacing KC Concepcion who has entered the 2026 NFL Draft. While star player Mario Craver and rising talent Ashton Bethel-Roman are set to return, the team needs additional depth and talent.
Among the potential additions, former Auburn transfer Malcolm Simmons visited College Station and is reportedly weighing offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Kentucky, with a preference for staying within the SEC. Simultaneously, Cam Coleman, another Auburn transfer, remains Texas A&M's top receiver prospect. He recently visited Texas A&M and other programs, including Texas and Texas Tech, with a trip to Alabama scheduled.
Adding to the transfer portal activity, Alabama's 6'4" wide receiver Isaiah Horton has entered the portal. Horton recorded 511 yards and eight touchdowns during the 2025 season, making him a significant target. If Cam Coleman ultimately commits elsewhere, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko is expected to heavily pursue Horton to bolster the receiving corps with his size and production.
