Summary
- Will Anderson Jr. earned an All-Pro selection with 12.0 sacks.
- Derek Stingley Jr. has two All-Pro nods and is on a Hall of Fame pace.
- Kenyon Green was traded to the Eagles after struggling in Houston.

The Houston Texans' recent draft history reveals a mixed bag of first-round selections since 2016. Will Anderson Jr., acquired via a trade-up in the 2023 draft, has become an All-Pro First-Team selection, recording a career-high 12.0 sacks and solidifying his status as a top defensive talent.
Cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., the third overall pick in 2022, has also proved to be an exceptional choice. He has earned two All-Pro First-Team nods and is tracking towards a potential Hall of Fame career, with his long-term extension ensuring his presence in Houston.
However, the Texans have also faced disappointment. Will Fuller, a first-round receiver from ten years ago, struggled with injuries and suspensions, never fully meeting expectations. More recently, guard Kenyon Green, drafted 15th overall in 2022, was benched and eventually traded to the Philadelphia Eagles after missing significant time and games.
As the 2026 NFL Draft approaches, the Texans, who have not had a first-round pick since 2023 due to trades, will be looking to replicate the success of Anderson and Stingley while avoiding the pitfalls seen with Fuller and Green.
