The No. 23 ranked Tennessee Lady Vols defeated the Auburn Tigers 73-56 on Sunday, continuing their strong start to the SEC season. Talaysia Cooper was the game's leading scorer with 18 points, complemented by Janiah Barker's 17 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. Tennessee extended their lead to 41-26 by halftime, capitalizing on a late first-half surge and maintaining double-digit scoring throughout the second half. Despite a season-high 25 turnovers, the Lady Vols' offensive efficiency, particularly from beyond the arc (5 of 7 three-pointers made), proved too much for Auburn.
With this win, Tennessee improves to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in SEC play, while Auburn falls to 11-5 overall and 0-2 in conference action. The Lady Vols now hold a commanding 51-12 lead in the all-time series between the two programs. Tennessee's next game is against Mississippi State on Thursday, while Auburn faces a tough challenge against No. 2 Texas.
