The No. 13 Tennessee Volunteers will embrace a traditional look for their season-opening SEC home game against the No. 1 Texas Longhorns on September 26. The Vols will wear white helmets, orange jerseys, and white pants at Neyland Stadium for this historic matchup, which is the first time Texas football has visited Knoxville. The team has already achieved success this 2026 season in this classic combination, with victories over Furman and Kennesaw State.
Tennessee's uniform choices also include a special "smokey grey" edition honoring coach Gen. Robert Neyland, scheduled for October 3 against Auburn. Additionally, a significant color-on-color game is set for October 17 against Alabama, reviving a tradition not seen since 1970. The team also recently announced a new sponsorship deal with First Horizon Bank, valued at over $12 million annually for athletics.
