On November 15, 2025, teenage sensation Caoimhe Bray delivered a match-winning performance as the Sixers defeated the Thunder by 24 runs in the WBBL Sydney derby at Drummoyne Oval. The 16-year-old medium-pacer snared a hat-trick to derail the Thunder's chase of 143, finishing with superb figures of 4-15 from her four overs.
The Thunder, who were yet to register a win this season, struggled from the outset, slumping to 3-33 before Bray's hat-trick reduced them further to 6-42. Debutant Lucy Finn top-scored for the Thunder with an unbeaten 49 off 34 balls, but the visitors ultimately fell short, finishing at 8-118.
Earlier, the Sixers had posted a competitive total of 142/9 from their 20 overs. English opener Sophia Dunkley top-scored with 43 off 35 balls, while Alyssa Healy contributed 26 off 15 deliveries. Despite the Sixers' strong start, the Thunder fought back to restrict them to 66 runs in the final 11.1 overs, with Ismail and Georgia Voll taking three and two wickets, respectively.
The victory sees the Sixers move up the WBBL ladder, while the Thunder remain winless after three matches this season.
