The 18th edition of the TCS World 10K Bengaluru is set to feature elite athletes from around the globe on Sunday, April 26. Ugandan Harbert Kibet enters the men's race as a strong contender, having recently achieved a world-leading time of 26:39 in his debut 10K. He faces formidable competition, including Ethiopian Khairi Bejiga and Burundi's Rodrigue Kwizera.
In the women's category, defending champion Sarah Chelangat of Uganda aims to secure her second consecutive title. Kenyan athletes, who have dominated the event historically, present a strong challenge. Brenda Jepchirchir leads the Kenyan contingent with a time of 29:25, while former champions Lilian Rengeruk Kasait and Beatrice Chepkoech are also in contention.
The TCS World 10K Bengaluru, a World Athletics Gold Label Race, offers a total prize purse of USD 210,000, with winners in both the men's and women's categories receiving USD 26,000. Significant bonuses are also available for breaking course records.
