Summary
- Dominik Szoboszlai's contract expires in summer 2028.
- Talks are ongoing between his representative and sporting director.
- He prefers playing midfield over a makeshift right-back role.

Dominik Szoboszlai has indicated that his future at Liverpool remains undecided, with contract negotiations yet to yield significant progress. The midfielder's current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2028, and while Liverpool aims to improve his terms, Szoboszlai suggests the outcome is beyond his immediate control. He shared that discussions between his representatives and sporting director Richard Hughes have not yet advanced.
Despite the contractual uncertainty, Szoboszlai expressed affection for Liverpool, stating, "I like the city, I like the club, I like playing with these guys. I love Anfield, I love the fans." He is focused on his performance on the pitch, most recently filling in as a right-back in a win against Newcastle United due to injuries.
However, Szoboszlai clearly stated his preference for his natural midfield role, explaining that he feels more effective and closer to goal in that position. He acknowledged the team's needs and his willingness to play wherever required by the coach, but expressed hope for a return to midfield once defensive players recover from injuries.
