Unbeaten Switzerland Qualifies for World Cup

Switzerland has officially secured their spot in the 2026 World Cup, maintaining their unbeaten record throughout the qualification process. A hard-fought 1-1 draw against Kosovo in Pristina was enough to confirm their passage to the global tournament. The Swiss team adopted a cautious approach, controlling possession but creating limited clear-cut chances in the first half.

Shortly after the second half began, Switzerland broke the deadlock. Djibril Sow's precise pass set up Ruben Vargas, who expertly found the back of the net. However, Kosovo, spurred on by their home crowd, fought back and leveled the score in the 74th minute through a brilliant long-range effort from Florent Muslija, leaving goalkeeper Gregor Kobel with no chance.

The late equalizer created a tense finale, with Kosovo pushing for a winner and creating a couple of late opportunities. Nevertheless, Switzerland's defense held firm in the closing moments, withstanding the final surge. This draw secured Switzerland's top position in Group B, marking their eighth consecutive major international tournament appearance, while Kosovo secured second place and will compete in the March play-offs.
