Swedish Coach Emerges as Top Contender for Swansea Job

Swansea City are actively seeking a new manager to replace Alan Sheehan, who was sacked earlier this week due to the team's poor start to the season. The Welsh club has identified Kim Hellberg, the 37-year-old boss of Swedish top-flight side Hammarby, as the leading contender for the job.

Hellberg has previously been linked to the Swansea position when Sheehan was serving as interim manager in the spring. Now, the Swede is expected to meet with Swansea's chief executive Tom Gorringe within the next 24 hours to discuss the vacant managerial role.

However, Hellberg's appointment is not yet guaranteed, as he has also been linked to openings at other Championship clubs, including Middlesbrough and Norwich City. Southampton, another second-tier side, are also currently in the market for a new manager.

Swansea are keen to have a new management team in place before they return to action after the upcoming international break. Their next match is scheduled for November 22 against Bristol City, and the club is determined to have the new leadership in position by that time.
