Born prematurely at 23 1/2 weeks, his life began under critical medical circumstances. He faced a grade-three brain bleed and required resuscitation, having no heartbeat at one point. This survival against immense odds necessitated a week on life support.
Following this critical period, he remained in the NICU for five months, relying on a ventilator. His mother recalled it as a "scary, scary time" filled with "what ifs." Upon returning home, he required frequent hospital visits and an inhaler for his underdeveloped lungs.
Seeking a sense of normality during his childhood, he discovered flag football at four years old. This activity provided a much-needed balance to his otherwise sheltered life, allowing him to participate in a common childhood experience. Since then, his dedication to football has been unwavering.
