Unranked Team Cracks Top 10 in Surprise College Football Shakeup
18 Nov
Summary
- Unranked team climbs into top 10 rankings
- Defending champion Buckeyes have had uneventful season
- Miami Hurricanes make strong case for playoff spot

As of November 18th, 2025, the college football landscape has seen some unexpected shakeups. One of the most notable developments is that an unranked team has now crept into the top 10 rankings, much to the delight of the author, who claims it as their alma mater.
Elsewhere, the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes have had an uneventful season, playing zero currently ranked opponents and facing little adversity since their opening week. They are expected to have another easy win against Rutgers this week, but the author wonders how much playing time star players Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate will see with their big rivalry game against "The Team Up North" looming next week.
The real surprise, however, comes from the Miami Hurricanes. Despite having the same record as Alabama, the Hurricanes have been consistently ranked lower than the Crimson Tide and other teams. However, the author makes a strong case for Miami's inclusion in the College Football Playoff, citing their better win over a common opponent (N.C. State) compared to Notre Dame, as well as their overall strength of schedule. If the Hurricanes can put together two more performances like their recent dominant win, the author believes it will be nearly impossible to keep them out of the playoff.
