Summary
- Sunderland hosts Burnley on Monday in a key Premier League fixture.
- Sunderland sits comfortably in 11th, Burnley battles relegation.
- Burnley won the reverse fixture 1-0 against Sunderland.
Monday's Premier League action features a clash between Sunderland and Burnley at the Stadium of Light. This match pits two promoted clubs against each other, though they've experienced vastly different fortunes this season. Sunderland enters the game positioned 11th in the standings, a considerable margin above Burnley, who are embroiled in a relegation struggle.
Burnley secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in August. However, Sunderland has shown resilience with three consecutive draws against strong teams like Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur. These recent results provide a degree of confidence for Sunderland heading into this important fixture.
The match is scheduled for Monday, February 2, with kickoff at 8 p.m. local time. In the United States, the game will be televised on USA Network and available for live streaming via DIRECTV.
