St Mirren Boss Cool on Aberdeen Job Speculation

Stephen Robinson, manager of St Mirren, has commented on the recent speculation linking him to the vacant Aberdeen managerial position. He described the links as "nice" but emphasized his undivided attention is on St Mirren's next Scottish Premiership fixture against Livingston. Aberdeen recently parted ways with their manager, Jimmy Thelin, following a winless streak that left them eighth in the league.

Robinson, who has a strong track record with St Mirren, having guided them to three consecutive top-six finishes and a Premier Sports Cup victory in December 2025, is considered a frontrunner for the Aberdeen job. However, he expressed his familiarity with such rumors throughout his career, stating they do not distract him. He highlighted his long tenure in football has made him accustomed to being linked with various roles.

"I can't control what people say," Robinson stated, acknowledging the positive implication of being linked to the position. "I've got a big enough job to concentrate on Tuesday night than concentrating on anybody else." He also noted the difficult nature of the football industry, particularly when colleagues lose their jobs, expressing empathy for those affected.
