Summary
- Steelers exploring trade for Saints QB Spencer Rattler.
- Rattler started 14 games for New Orleans in 2024-2025.
- Pittsburgh may also develop current prospect Will Howard.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are exploring a potential trade for New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler as an alternative to drafting a signal-caller or re-signing Aaron Rodgers. Analyst Nate Tice suggested Rattler as an intriguing, low-key option, noting that a team might offer a fourth-round pick to see if he can develop into a starter.
Rattler, a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has accumulated starting experience with the Saints. He appeared in seven games, making six starts as a rookie backup in 2024, and then started eight of nine games in 2025, totaling 1,317 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie year, followed by 1,586 yards and eight touchdowns in 2025.
