Steelers RB Jaylen Warren Expected to Play in Week 4 Despite Knee Injury
28 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Steelers RB Jaylen Warren listed as questionable with knee injury
- Expected to play against Vikings in Week 4 per league source
- Trey Sermon elevated from practice squad as kick returner replacement

According to the latest reports, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren is expected to play in the team's Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday in Dublin, Ireland.
Warren was added to the Steelers' injury report on Friday with a knee issue and was listed as questionable for the game. However, a league source has informed ESPN's Adam Schefter that Warren is expected to suit up against the Vikings.
The Steelers have also elevated running back Trey Sermon from the practice squad for the game, but this move is not directly related to Warren's injury status. Sermon will likely serve as the team's kick returner after rookie Kaleb Johnson lost that job following a blunder in Week 2.
Over the past two weeks, Warren has seen his role in the Steelers' offense increase significantly. After just 13 touches in Week 1, he recorded 18 in Week 2 and 23 in Week 3. This heavy workload may have contributed to the knee issue that has him listed as questionable.
Despite the injury concern, Warren is still expected to lead the Steelers' backfield in touches as long as he is healthy enough to play. The team may look to scale back his workload slightly, but he should remain the primary ball carrier against the Vikings on Sunday.
