St. John's, Kentucky in Talks for Historic Stadium Game

St. John's Red Storm men's basketball is reportedly in advanced discussions with the Kentucky Wildcats for a two-year series. This potential matchup is slated to begin next November, with games to be held at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. This venue, known for hosting the US Open tennis tournament, would offer a unique setting for college basketball.

While no contract has been finalized, the proposed series between St. John's and Kentucky could become the first regular season college basketball games played at Arthur Ashe Stadium. This historic event might occur as early as November 2027, providing a memorable experience.

For the 2026-27 season, St. John's faces a challenging non-conference schedule. They will participate in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas, playing Oregon. Additionally, they are scheduled to host Arizona at Madison Square Garden and visit Alabama.
