Southern Miss lands Texas QB Julian Navarrete for 2027

Golden Eagles head coach Blake Anderson has successfully recruited 3-star quarterback Julian Navarrete from Texas for the 2027 class. Navarrete, a left-handed signal-caller from Boerne-Champion High School, committed to Southern Miss, bringing a talented prospect to Hattiesburg.

Navarrete, who stands at 6-0 and weighs 180 pounds, has been the starter for Boerne-Champion since his sophomore year. Over two varsity seasons, he has compiled a remarkable stat line, completing 288 of 453 passes for 4,912 yards and 57 touchdowns, with only nine interceptions.

In his junior year alone, Navarrete threw for 2,242 yards and 31 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to deliver accurate passes downfield. His performance significantly contributed to the Chargers' successful 2025 season, which concluded with a 9-4 record and a playoff appearance.

As Navarrete enters his senior season this fall, he aims to build on his past successes and lead the Chargers to another playoff run. He is expected to join Southern Miss in 2027, where Golden Eagle fans anticipate his continued development and potential contributions.
