Additionally, the Hampshire club was penalized with a four-point deduction for the upcoming season.
Eckert accepted responsibility for the spying operations and sought forgiveness from the supporters. Despite the controversy, club owner Dragan Solak has expressed his support for the manager. Eckert was appointed permanent manager in December 2025 after a period as caretaker, during which he guided the team from a relegation fight to a playoff position.
