Southampton Eye Play-Off Spot in Season Finale
30 Apr
Summary
- Southampton aims to secure play-off position in season finale.
- Saints are on an impressive 18-game unbeaten streak.
- Preston sits mid-table, unaffected by promotion race.
Southampton faces Preston North End on Saturday in the Championship season finale, with the match crucial for determining their play-off position. The Saints have maintained an impressive unbeaten streak of 18 league games.
However, a draw in their most recent fixture means Southampton can only secure a play-off spot between third and fifth place. Their final standing will depend on results from Millwall and Middlesbrough on the last day. Preston, currently in 12th position after a recent victory, is expected to finish in a familiar mid-table spot, outside the promotion contention.
