South African Spinner Sanctioned for Unsportsmanlike Conduct at Women's World Cup

Apart from being reprimanded, Mlaba also received one demerit point on her disciplinary record. The incident occurred in the 17th over of India's innings, where Mlaba waved goodbye to Deol after dismissing her. Despite the sanction, South Africa managed to pull off a remarkable victory in the match.
Chasing a target of 252 runs, the Proteas were in trouble at 81/5 before a brilliant unbeaten 84-run knock by No.8 batter Nadine de Klerk helped them cross the line. De Klerk's knock, which included 8 fours and 5 sixes, proved to be the difference as India suffered their first defeat of the Women's World Cup 2025 edition.
