YouTube Stars Sidemen Join BBC for World Cup Live Stream

BBC Sport is collaborating with the popular YouTube collective, the Sidemen, to offer a live watch-along of the Ecuador vs. Germany FIFA World Cup match. This event, scheduled for Thursday, June 25, will be streamed across BBC Football's YouTube channel, the MoreSidemen YouTube channel, and BBC iPlayer. Four Sidemen members—Tobi, Simon, Ethan, and Josh—will host pre-match build-up starting at 8:45 PM, followed by their live commentary and analysis throughout the game. This initiative marks an unprecedented move at a World Cup, blending a major sporting event with creator-led content to engage younger audiences on digital platforms. This partnership aims to cater to fans who increasingly follow sports through online creators and social media, offering an alternative viewing experience to traditional broadcasts. The match itself will also be available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer with standard coverage from 8:30 PM.
