Shanto set to rejoin Bangladesh squad for Afghanistan Test

Bangladesh's Test captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, is anticipated to rejoin his teammates in the United Arab Emirates for the first Test against Afghanistan. This match is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from October 9 to October 13.
Shanto had been suffering from a persistent fever since the team's arrival in Japan, which led to his withdrawal from the Asian Games campaign. Despite initial concerns, he is now reportedly feeling better. Chief selector Habibul Bashar expressed hope for Shanto's participation, stating he is expected to fly out on October 6 if all goes well.
Following the one-off Test, Bangladesh will participate in an ODI tri-series with Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, running from October 17 to October 23. Shanto is expected to play a significant role in this series as well. The initial matches of the tri-series will be held in Abu Dhabi, with subsequent games moving to Sharjah.
