On November 13th, 2025, Seton Hall (3-0) will host in-state rival Monmouth in a highly anticipated rematch. Last November, Monmouth defeated the Pirates 63-51, marking their first win in 16 games between the two schools. That loss was a low point for Seton Hall, but this season has been nothing but positive for the team.
Seton Hall is coming off an 82-59 win over Fairfield on Monday night and has held opponents to just 56.7 points per game so far this season. Freshman center Najai Hines recorded his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Fairfield, while senior A.J. Staton-McCray had a season-high 13 points.
Seton Hall coach Shaheen Holloway has praised Staton-McCray's performance and is working to blend the team's 10 newcomers. The Pirates will be without starting big man Godswill Erheriene, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury, and guard Jahseem Felton, who was injured in an awkward fall against Fairfield.
Monmouth, on the other hand, is 1-1 after a 96-68 win over Division II Caldwell and a 73-60 loss to La Salle. The Hawks are playing without starting point guard Kavion McClain, who is under investigation by the NCAA for possible rules infractions.
