Seminoles Seek Redemption After Narrow Loss to Defending Champs

The Florida State Seminoles basketball team is seeking redemption after a close 78-76 loss to the defending national champion Florida Gators last week. The Seminoles, now 2-1 on the season, will look to get back on track as they host UT Martin on Tuesday night.

First-year head coach Luke Loucks, who is accustomed to the fast-paced NBA schedule, admitted he is still adjusting to the slower college basketball calendar. "I hate it," Loucks said of the layoff between games. "I'm coming from the NBA, where you play four games a week."

Despite the loss, there were plenty of positives for the Seminoles to build on. They forced 18 turnovers and held the game close until the final possession, even with a subpar shooting performance. Standout guard Robert McCray V scored 29 points, including Florida State's final 16 points in the last 6 minutes.

Meanwhile, UT Martin has gotten off to a 3-0 start, including road wins at UNLV and Bradley. Andrija Bukumirovic has been the catalyst, averaging a team-high 20 points per game while shooting an impressive 69.2% from 3-point range, which is tied for second nationally.
