According to former Indian cricketer and national selector Sarandeep Singh, Yuvraj Singh should have played 100 Test matches for India, rather than the 40 he represented the country in. Yuvraj, who made his Test debut in 2003 and last played in the format in 2012, scored 1900 runs at an average of 33.92 with three centuries and 11 half-centuries.
Sarandeep, who served as a national selector from 2016 to 2020, feels Yuvraj's Test career could have been more successful. "I feel Yuvraj Singh should have played more Test matches. He should have played 100 Tests," Sarandeep said during a rapid-fire segment on former Indian cricketer Taruwar Kohli's YouTube channel.
In the same conversation, Sarandeep also highlighted the importance of having a good circle of friends and teammates for a cricketer's success. He pointed out how legendary Indian cricketers like Yuvraj, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, and Ashish Nehra had strong support systems, which contributed to their achievements.
