Texas Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott is finishing the Arizona Fall League season strong. He played a key role in the Surprise Saguaros' decisive 13-2 victory over the Mesa Solar Sox.
Walcott went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, boosting his batting average to .273. His offensive contributions included a crucial fifth-inning single that scored two runs and a double that led to another run.
Sent to the AFL to increase his workload post-elbow surgery, Walcott has also been cross-training in the outfield. He is expected to start next season at Triple-A Round Rock, with potential MLB call-up readiness.
Following his recovery, Walcott posted impressive stats and was cleared to play shortstop late last season. He is not currently on the Rangers' 40-man roster, ensuring he will play in the minor leagues next season.
