Aztecs Shatter Scoring Record in Dominating Victory

San Diego State set a new Viejas Arena scoring record, achieving a dominant 121-59 victory over Whittier College on Monday afternoon. The Aztecs focused on attacking the basket, scoring an impressive 84 points in the paint and making a record number of field goals within the arc. This inside-out strategy proved highly effective, especially after a previous game where their rim attack faltered.

Key players like Pharaoh Compton and Tae Simmons delivered career-best performances, with Compton tallying 21 points and eight rebounds, including four dunks. Six Aztecs players reached double-digit scoring figures, showcasing the team's depth and offensive versatility. This decisive win marks the end of non-conference play for SDSU, heading into crucial Mountain West Conference matchups.
