Saranac High School achieved a significant victory by capturing both the boys' and girls' Section VII Indoor Track and Field championships. The Spartans' boys' team secured first place with a commanding 160 points, a substantial lead over second-place Peru. Nolan Hamel and Owen Dingman were among the key performers for the boys, with wins in the 55-meter and 600-meter runs, respectively.
The Saranac girls' team also demonstrated remarkable dominance, winning their division with 184.50 points. Sienna Boulds was a standout, achieving three individual victories in the 600, 1,500, and 3,000-meter runs. Eve Liberty also contributed significantly with wins in the 55-meter dash and 300-meter run, in addition to being part of the winning 4x400 relay team.
Competitors will now advance to the State Qualifiers, scheduled to begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. The results from this championship meet set the stage for further individual and team competitions at the state level.
