The New Orleans Saints are addressing a key need in their secondary after cornerback Alontae Taylor departed for the Tennessee Titans on a lucrative three-year, $60 million contract. With Taylor's departure, the Saints are reportedly eyeing South Carolina's Jalon Kilgore as a potential draft pick.
Kilgore, a versatile safety ranked No. 128 on PFF's big board, has garnered significant attention and is considered a strong possibility for selection on Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft. His impressive performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, including a 4.4 40-yard dash, 37-inch vertical, and 10-foot, 11-inch broad jump, highlights his elite athleticism.
The South Carolina captain played various roles in the Gamecocks' secondary, recording 44 tackles in the 2025 season and allowing just 34 receptions. The Saints, holding pick No. 73 in the third round, may find him an ideal fit to add depth and potential to their young cornerback group, alongside Kool-Aid McKinstry and Quincy Riley.
