- Defeats 8th-seeded Elena Rybakina in straight sets
- Advances to Wuhan Open semifinals for 11th time this season

On October 10, 2025, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka continued her dominant run at the Wuhan Open, extending her winning streak at the tournament to 20 matches. Sabalenka, the 2018, 2019, and 2021 Wuhan Open champion, defeated 8th-seeded Elena Rybakina 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
The 1-hour, 25-minute match saw Sabalenka break Rybakina's serve three times to advance to the semifinals for the 11th time this season. "We have a really huge history against each other," Sabalenka said in her on-court interview. "Always great battles ... (Rybakina) always pushes me to the limit to get the win."
Sabalenka's next opponent will be 6th-seeded Jessica Pegula, who earlier on Friday came from behind to defeat Katerina Siniakova 2-6, 6-0, 6-3. Pegula, who is coming off wins over No. 9 Ekaterina Alexandrova and fellow American Hailey Baptiste, needed seven match points to clinch the victory.
In the other quarterfinal matches, No. 2-ranked Iga Swiatek was playing Jasmine Paolini, while No. 3 Coco Gauff was scheduled to meet Laura Siegemund.
