While David Beckham, a co-owner of Inter Miami, was instrumental in Messi's move, Senderos suggests that the two GOATs are not destined to share a team. He expressed that seeing them compete at the 2026 World Cup would be a remarkable event for fans.

Senderos also highlighted the burgeoning "football culture" in the United States, noting the development of youth academies across MLS clubs. He believes that while stars like Messi are crucial for attracting attention and engaging major markets, the focus is increasingly shifting towards nurturing homegrown talent.
