Summary
- Rohtash Chaudhary performed 847 push-ups with a 60 lb pack.
- A past back injury nearly ended his athletic career.
- He aims for a new US record of 1,350 push-ups in one hour.

Rohtash Chaudhary, a 41-year-old Delhi resident, has set a remarkable new record by completing 847 push-ups while carrying a 60 lb (27.21kg) pack at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. This accomplishment surpasses the previous Guinness World Record. Chaudhary's dedication is rooted in overcoming significant adversity; a severe back injury in 2007, resulting from a bike accident, left him unable to walk properly for years and led to multiple surgeries.
His recovery journey began with yoga, which gradually restored his flexibility and strength. He rediscovered his proficiency in push-ups, an exercise from his boxing days, and began a new mission. In 2015, he achieved his first major endurance record with 10,102 push-ups in seven and a half hours. A year later, he entered the Guinness World Records for performing 51 weighted push-ups in one minute with 36.6 kg, exceeding the prior record.
Chaudhary's routine is disciplined, starting his day at 4:30 AM with an apple, followed by training and a balanced diet. He also runs 5 km and engages in other exercises like chin-ups and burpees. He is currently preparing for another ambitious target: a US record of 1,350 grounded push-ups within an hour. As a Fit India Movement ambassador, Chaudhary advocates for natural fitness, urging everyone to incorporate movement into their daily lives.
He emphasizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle, recommending home-cooked meals and seasonal fruits while warning against steroid use. His personal philosophy is that true achievement lies in maintaining a healthy, naturally built body. Chaudhary, who lives with his wife and two children, also integrates fitness into his family's daily rituals, encouraging them to start the day with Surya Namaskar.
