Rocco Becht Transfers to Penn State: What to Expect in 2026
19 Aug
Summary
- Becht brings highest winning percentage among active QBs.
- Injuries impacted his 2025 season, leading to lower stats.
- His favorite target, Brahmer, also transferred to Penn State.
Quarterback Rocco Becht is set to lead Penn State in the 2026 season, bringing a wealth of experience and a notable winning percentage. This move follows a challenging 2025 season with Iowa State, where a torn labrum affected his performance, resulting in 2,584 passing yards and 16 touchdowns, a dip from his 2023 peak. Becht's loyalty to head coach Matt Campbell has been a constant, seeing him transfer to Penn State after committing to Campbell's Iowa State squad in 2022.
With his recovery anticipated and his preferred target, Benjamin Brahmer, also joining the Nittany Lions, expectations are high. The depth of the Becht-Campbell relationship is noted as a significant factor. However, the transition to Happy Valley presents new dynamics, and Becht's success will hinge on the team's adaptation and his ability to consistently perform at his past elite levels throughout the 2026 season.
