Thomas Leads New Blues Era

A new leadership chapter has begun for the St. Louis Blues with forward Robert Thomas appointed as the team's 25th captain. General Manager Alex Steen revealed this decision, emphasizing the young, hungry, and talented mix of the new leadership group.

Colton Parayko, Jake Neighbours, Philip Broberg, and Dylan Holloway will serve as assistant captains. Thomas, who has played eight seasons with the Blues, brings valuable experience, having witnessed the team's highs and lows and learned from previous leaders like Ryan O'Reilly and Brayden Schenn.

Thomas acknowledged the significance of the captaincy, stating his commitment to team unity and representing the city. The Blues, who have made the playoffs once in the last four seasons, are focused on a strong performance in the Central Division this coming season. Head coach Jim Montgomery noted Thomas's leadership evolution, particularly his impact during a recent game where he rallied the team.

GM Steen, now in his role after Doug Armstrong's tenure, highlighted Thomas's continuous drive for improvement and his authentic dedication both on and off the ice, expressing confidence in his ability to lead the team forward.
