Richardson Returns: Trade Request Lingers for Colts QB

Anthony Richardson Sr. rejoined the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, months after requesting a trade in February. The team was unable to find a suitable trade partner for the quarterback, who has now returned to participate in team activities.

Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds stated that the team did attempt to facilitate a trade for Richardson. He emphasized that despite the request, Richardson is a professional with a job to do and that competing will ultimately benefit him. Richardson and Riley Leonard are expected to receive more reps during spring practices as Daniel Jones continues his recovery.

Dodds also expressed optimism about the team's quarterback room, which includes Richardson, Leonard, and Jones, highlighting that multiple quarterbacks on the roster have starting experience in the NFL. Richardson's vision has reportedly returned to full capacity following an orbital fracture.

In other team news, rookie safety A.J. Haulcy and second-round pick linebacker CJ Allen are anticipated to play crucial roles. Haulcy, drafted in the third round, is seen as a potential Week 1 starter, while Allen, a former Georgia star, is being groomed to wear the defensive play-calling helmet, a role previously held by Zaire Franklin.
