- Hamilton excelled as both a coverage defender and pass-rusher according to PFF.
- He lined up at multiple defensive positions, making him a unique asset.

New Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter is poised to deploy a defensive player whose versatility is unprecedented in his coaching career. Safety Kyle Hamilton has been identified as a "unicorn" defender, a talent Minter has not previously worked with.
Pro Football Focus recognized Hamilton as one of the NFL's most versatile defensive players. He achieved excellent grades in both coverage and pass-rushing last season. Notably, Hamilton was one of only three defenders to consistently align at defensive line, box safety, free safety, and slot cornerback for over 150 snaps each.
The Ravens strategically increased Hamilton's snaps closer to the line of scrimmage, doubling his defensive line presence while reducing his free safety role. His size and explosiveness make him ideally suited for run-stopping and tight end coverage near the line. Hamilton recorded 105 tackles, nine pass deflections, nine stuffs, two forced fumbles, and one sack last season.
Minter can leverage Hamilton's abilities in numerous ways, from playing linebacker in the box to rushing the passer off the edge or covering receivers deep. This adaptability makes him a strategic asset, a "chess piece" for the Ravens' defense. While he may feature more as a safety, Minter can use Hamilton to disguise blitzes or drop him into coverage to confuse offenses.
