Rangers' Europa League hopes hang by a thread after Braga draw

Rangers face an uphill battle to advance in the Europa League, having accumulated only a single point from their opening five matches. Captain James Tavernier, however, expressed belief in his team's ability to still reach the knockout stages, despite the daunting challenge ahead.

The recent 1-1 draw at Ibrox against Sporting Braga, who played with ten men for a significant portion of the match, highlighted the team's struggles. A defensive error by Nasser Djiga led to Braga's equalizer, shortly after Rodrigo Zalazar was shown a red card for headbutting Nicolas Raskin.

Despite the setback, Tavernier's first-half goal, converted from a penalty, marked a personal milestone, equaling Ally McCoist's record of 21 European goals for the club. While this result ended a seven-game European losing streak, Rangers now must secure nine points from their remaining fixtures, a task that appears exceptionally difficult.
