Jed Ortmeyer Out as Rangers Dev Director
2 May
Summary
- Jed Ortmeyer's tenure as director of player development concluded.
- Ortmeyer held the position since 2017 with the Rangers.
- Tanner Glass is a potential internal candidate for the role.
Jed Ortmeyer has been dismissed from his role as the New York Rangers' director of player development. Ortmeyer had been serving in this capacity since 2017, before Chris Drury assumed the positions of president and general manager.
When asked about potential staff changes during his exit interview, Drury mentioned that all departments were being evaluated. Several players drafted during Ortmeyer's time with the organization, including Braden Schneider, Alexis Lafrenière, Noah Laba, and Gabe Perreault, are still part of the current Rangers roster.
While no official successor has been named, Tanner Glass is reportedly being considered for the position if the team opts for an internal promotion.
