6 Jul
Summary
- Nahid Rana set a new Bangladesh record with 6-21.
- Bangladesh bundled out Zimbabwe for 141 in the first ODI.
- This was Rana's third five-wicket haul in 2026.

Nahid Rana achieved a career-best bowling performance of 6-21, dismantling Zimbabwe's batting order in the first ODI. This remarkable spell saw the hosts bowled out for just 141 in 36.4 overs at Harare Sports Club. Rana's figures surpassed the previous Bangladesh record of 6-26 held by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza since 2006.
The performance marked Rana's third five-wicket haul in international cricket this year, a feat matched by few Bangladeshi bowlers. After Zimbabwe's openers provided a steady start, a swift collapse ensued. Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz was instrumental in breaking the partnership, leading to Zimbabwe's downfall.
Despite a late resistance from Richard Ngarava and Newman Nyamhuri, who added 63 runs, Rana and Miraz closed out the innings. Rana dismissed Ngarava for 27, while Miraz took the wicket of Nyamhuri, who top-scored with 33. Taskin Ahmed also contributed with two wickets to Bangladesh's dominant bowling effort.
